The Silverbow building is the oldest, continuously operating
bakery in the State of Alaska. There has been a bakery
here since the 1890's. Now it is the site of the first
traditional bagel bakery in Alaska where bagels are
first boiled, then baked.
The Silverbow has become one of downtown's
most popular restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
serving a variety of sandwiches, soups and salads.
Enjoy our year-round outdoor heated beer garden with views
of Juneau's spectacular mountains.
In addition, you can take home a baker's dozen of your favorite bagels. We serve everything from spinach, pesto, cinnamon raison to poppy, salt, garlic, and sesame bagels. Come and find your favorite! The super cinnamon is our most popular. The bakery/cafe is a destination in Juneau unto itself.
We also make a different bread every day. The Challah served every Friday morning is truly spectacular, and the sourdough bread uses the bakery's original 100 year old sourdough starter.

The restaurant has become very popular in Dining
Guides as well. Here is what the critics are saying:
Lets Go: The best smelling breakfast spot
in town.
Moon Handbooks Alaska: Silverbow is a fine
spot for lunchtime sandwich and soup. The atmosphere
is homespun and funky, and the street side location
keeps the crowd at bay.
Lonely Planet Alaska: At lunch look for
salads and sandwiches. This is a casual place to hang
out, read the paper or write a post card.
The Rough Guide to Alaska: Out front there
is a wonderfully relaxed eat-in bakery and coffee
bar with big windows that catch the morning sun. Bagels
and superb pastries bolster a menu of home made breads
used for sandwiches.
